I am keeping an open mind today. I hoping for the best and preparing for the worst, because nothing ever goes as well as you think it is going to go when dealing with the judicial system in NY.



What I want is what is best for my son. I know that no matter how it turns out, people will be hurt and that very well could include myself. But we all want is what is best for Alex. He is a teenage now he is defiant just like any other teenager and that is something my parents are havinga hard time with. Alex is much like myself and tends to keep everything bottled up inside. And then when it gets to be overloading he explodes.



I am happy that his law guardian has taken the time to speak with his therapist because that is really the only person that knows what is going on in Alex's head at the moment.



He is torn between the people that love him and is havinga hard tiome making the final descion. He made the descion to want to be down here for the school year and spend the summers in NY and we were all in agreement with that. Except for the judge- as usual.



But I must heep a positive mind set and just see what happens. -shrugs- It is what it is.

So they have to release 46000 California inmates over the next two years. Who exactly is going to be released?



Why can't they just do this : This is a plan that a reader had come up with. What is your take on this ?



If it were up to me, I'd release every prisoner who is incarcerated only on "vice" charges - drugs, prostitution or gambling. I'd put everybody who is incarcerated for DUI, Driving Suspended, or DWI in a halfway house to serve their sentences. I'd put all the white collar criminals who have ruined people's lives into high security joints to do the janitorial and maintenence and cooking and clerical jobs for a dollar or two a day. Put the sex offenders and most of the low level murderers into the prisons where there are industries so they can work and earn their keep. They are the best workers and cause the least problems. Close the minimum joints. If somebody is so low risk that they can be in a place without a fence, put 'em in a halfway house or on home confinement. We spend billions in this country on minimum security prisons. Close them all. Legalize all drugs. Legalize gambling. Legalize prostitution. Quit incarcerating entire generations over meaningless crap. Those things would reduce the prison population by nearly 40%. It would save many billions of dollars and it would destroy the drug cartels in less than a year. Lets just do it!

Let em all out. Give em a 30 second head start, then release a pack of rabid, half-starved wolves that have been given their scent. Oh, and televise it, so we can all enjoy the results.
